It’s The First Amendment!

For those of you that don’t know this one, this is The First Amendment of the Constitution of The United States of America:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Any questions? Well it appears The White House has questions, like why do we have to abide by The First Amendment? Those rules don’t really apply to us.

Listen, there are lots of things we can agree to disagree on: Healthcare, abortion, guns, pot, sexuality, taxes, states rights…many more. This is not one of those. The First Amendment is one of the guiding principles upon which are country was founded:

• Freedom of the press
• Freedom of religion
• Freedom to assemble

Now we have today’s debacle at the White House, where certain media outlets were singled out and denied access to Mr. Spicey’s select group.  Several states are trying to limit the rights of protesters. I think it’s up to 17 states are looking into laws that one would think would be unconstitutional. And religion? Don’t get me started on that one. People are getting killed because of their religion. Any response from the White House? You can hear a pin drop on that one.

If what is currently going on in Washington DC does not make you uncomfortable, than you don’t have ice water running through you veins. Ice has frozen your brain…and your heart. This is not a party issue, not a race issue, not a religious issue. This is The Constitution of The United States. This is an American issue and it’s time for all Americans to wake up. You are under attack!
